Welcome to the world of Walls!The Walls Cinematic Universe, or WCU, is a series of fics extending past the True Pacifist route of Undertale. It features many of the characters you know and love, along with some new friends!Technically, the WCU started on May 25, 2017, with the release of the first chapter of my (Jess) fanfic, The Walls Around Our Hearts. It was a post-Pacifist story focusing specifically on Papyrus and Mettaton and their budding romantic relationship. It was originally intended to be a fluffy fanfic with little conflict, but as I began to have to deal with past trauma, I chose to start working more and more conflict into the story. This culminated in Walls becoming a story that dealt with heavy and dark topics such as abusive relationships, sexual assault/rape, ableism, suicide, and mental health issues. Papyrus and Mettaton both became characters with darkness in their pasts and little hope for the future, but in each other, and in their families whom they learn to trust, they begin to find the light.This fic was updated until 2022, when I had some major new ideas, but couldn’t implement them as far as I was into the fic. I had already been considering rewriting the story, as I didn’t like some of my earlier creative choices, so I decided if I really wanted these ideas, rewriting was the best option. I began working on the rewrite in late 2022.Around the same time (on Undertale Day, actually), I was talking to one of my best friends and said something about how it’d be cool if this OC they had for Undertale was a part of Walls. And right there, the WCU as an entire extended universe was born. My bestie officially became part of the project as a cowriter, and for a while since then, we worked to expand the focus of the Walls universe to more than just Papyrus and Mettaton. We had (and still have!) stories planned for Asgore, Toriel, Alphys, Undyne, and many more, including some original characters.As of April 2026, my bestie has bowed out of this project. Fortunately, they are allowing me to continue using their OC and the story beats we developed together. And extra fortunately, another dear friend of mine, alias Squid, has been able to step in as illustrator, and will likely help me with story development as well!As for the original Walls, it is still up on AO3, and I plan to keep it that way. And while that story has a lot of new stuff going on with it, the core and heart of it all is the same.Now, fair warning: as I said, the original Walls dealt with some really heavy and honestly rough topics, including things like rape and suicide. It’s really not for the faint of heart, even though nothing is overly graphic. That said, I believe in making my works as accessible as possible, so in addition to listing the most major warnings at the beginning of the fic, I always made sure to add more specific content warnings at the beginning of each chapter necessary. I will continue this practice for every story in the WCU that needs it, and if you have a request for something I should tag, I’m more than willing to take it.As much darkness as there is throughout the WCU, you can rest assured that the majority of the time, things always end okay, or at least with hope. The WCU is all about finding hope, light, and love in the midst of darkness and strife through the support of family and friends. The ultimate message: you are never alone.So overall, Squid and I are so excited to share our world with you! We really hope you enjoy the ride!

Ever since he can remember, Asgore has had a purpose. As King of the monsters, it has always been his job to ensure his people have hope for the future—before and during their banishment.But now, their exile is over. The monsters are free. They must now adapt to life on the surface world and find a new purpose. Toriel is fighting to become Frisk’s mother in the eyes of the law. Papyrus is discovering a new love. Undyne is doubling her efforts to protect those she loves. Alphys is finding a place among the scientists. Mettaton is asserting himself in the television industry.And all Asgore can do is fall behind.What use is he if there is no longer a need for hope? All that’s left are the sins he’s committed and the mistakes he’s made. He doesn’t deserve happiness. He doesn’t deserve forgiveness. He only deserves to take full responsibility for what he’s done.Maybe it’s about time he did that.rest of the page in progress ;)
